RENAL nephrometry — anatomical complexity
Interactive score for revision, based on Kutikov & Uzzo 2009. Interpret the polar-line and hilar descriptors against source imaging.
R: diameter ≤4 cm = 1, >4–7 = 2, >7 = 3. E: ≥50% exophytic = 1, <50% exophytic = 2, entirely endophytic = 3. N: ≥7 mm = 1, >4 to <7 mm = 2, ≤4 mm = 3 (verify borderline measurements against the original scoring reference). A: anterior/posterior descriptor, no points. L: polar-line position = 1–3 points. Total 4–12; 4–6 low, 7–9 moderate, 10–12 high complexity. Hilar suffix applies where appropriate.
Calculate RENAL nephrometry
Examiner trap: the A and h descriptors do not contribute points. RENAL is an anatomical complexity score, not a tumour recurrence model.
The schematic is an original educational diagram, not a patient CT. Kutikov & Uzzo, Urology 2009. Polar-line rules require the original reference diagram.
Other renal scoring systems
SSIGN, UISS, GRANT, and the 2018 Leibovich subtype-specific models. These are not implemented in this release.
Scores here are intentionally presented as prognostic classifications, not as recommendations for systemic treatment or surveillance imaging.
